Amanda Karls, J.D. (she/her) is Principal of Foodvocate LLC.

Amanda is a strategist and research consultant for legal and other food policy development initiatives. She has lent her expertise to a range of clients, partners, and project funders, including nonprofit organizations, policy coalitions, academic think tanks, state and local governments, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This background allows her to work across sectors to achieve meaningful results that can support positive public health outcomes and other organizational values. Amanda is also an adjunct professor of U.S. food law and policy and has taught courses for New York University and Vermont Law and Graduate School.

In addition to law and food policy, Amanda has background in food entrepreneurship and food marketing. Her favorite food is a perfectly ripe, garden-grown tomato.
